Reading Circle: Each evening, we sit around the fire circle outside the lodge (or inside by the fire if it's raining) and read what we've been writing during the day.

8:00pm - 9:30pm

Evening Activity: In the past, evening activity has featured book making, creative dance, and singing lessons with Gene Sager. We also have our annual visiting writer series, which has included Jane Wohl . . . And one night of the week is always devoted to camper skits, whose themes vary from year to year.

Other Writers Camp activites include The Wednesday Afternoon Hike, in which campers ascend the ridge above the Thorne-Rider Youth Camp. Those who do not wish to subject themselves to this grueling climb stay behind to bake bread at the lodge.

Periods of free time provide the opportunity for pickup games of ultimate frisbee, leisurely walks up the canyon, or one-on-one time with members of the Writers Camp faculty.
